Bayer in deal extension talks with Nidera
Bayer CropScience is in negotiations to prolong its association with the Argentine seed company, Nidera (Buenos Aires), national media report. Nidera is a leading seed company and the major maize supplier in the country. Bayer recently gained authorisation for its genetically modified glufosinate-tolerant LibertyLink soybeans in Argentina ( Agrow No 622, p 29), but it only markets fruit and vegetable seed in the country, national newspaper El Cronista Comercial reports. A deal with Nidera would be an “efficient means” of entering the maize and soybean markets, the newspaper notes.
