Russian market to grow over 15% in 2011
After being in decline for two years, the Russian pesticide market is expected to grow by 15-17% this year, says Cheminova Russia’s director of strategic marketing and development, Alexander Dolgikh, in an interview with Russian agricultural news website www.agroxxi.ru. Increased demand may even lead to the market exceeding the level of 2009. Mr Dolgikh expects Cheminova’s sales in Russia to rise by 12-15% on its revenues of over $12 million in 2010. The increase will come mainly through insecticide sales, as infestation was high in cereal crops in a “hot year”. Mr Dolgikh indicates that the company is considering the option of a formulation facility in Russia.
