Brazil industry seeks two-track approval process
The Brazilian agrochemical industry is seeking changes to the pesticide approval system to speed up the process, national newspaper Gazeta do Povo reports. The typical approval time of three and a half years can fall with a change in the structure of the process, the national agrochemical industry association, the Andef, reportedly says. It has called on the competent authorities to give “special treatment” for applications that do not require product analysis. The Andef proposes a two-track system, one for new active ingredients and the other for “post-registration” applications.
