China issues third list of production OKs for 2011

China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has issued its third tranche of pesticide production approval certificates for 2011. The list contains 247 production approvals. The MIIT grants the majority of authorisations for pesticide processing or mixing of agrochemical compounds, and the approvals are valid for two years. Among the 12 Chinese companies granted new production approvals for the manufacture of active ingredients were: Hebei Wuqiao Pesticide for the insecticide, nitenpyram (95%); Jiangsu Huifeng Agrochemical for the fungicide, dimethomorph (98%); Zhejiang Yifan Chemical for the fungicide, difenoconazole (95%), and the herbicide, bromacil (95%); and Zhejiang Huangyan Dingzheng Chemicals for the acaricide, azocyclotin (90%). China issued 251 manufacturing approvals for fungicides in the first six months of 2011, more than for any other pesticide product category ( Agrow No 621, p 23).
