US approval for MGK botanical insecticide
The US agrochemical company, MGK (Minneapolis, Minnesota), has received EPA approval for the botanical insecticide, Azera (azadirachtin + pyrethrins), for use on numerous crops, including fruit, vegetables and row crops. It can be applied to virtually any crop, including organic crops, the company notes. Azera controls a wide range of pests, including aphids, thrips, whiteflies, leaf miners, caterpillars and stink bugs, it adds. The product will be available in 2012.
