EU extends prov approvals for three new ais
The European Commission has allowed existing provisional approvals for three new active ingredients to be extended to allow more time to complete the EU registration process. Member-state approvals may be extended until October 31st 2013 for Isagro’s fungicides, benalaxyl-M and valifenalate, and Cheminova’s insecticide, gamma-cyhalothrin. Provisional approvals initially last for three years. This is the second extension for benalaxyl-M ( Agrow No 574, p 14) and gamma-cyhalothrin ( Agrow No 582, p 13). Benalaxyl-M holds approvals in 13 member states, while valifenalate is registered in France, Hungary and Italy. Gamma-cyhalothrin is approved in Bulgaria, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
