AkzoNobel ups surfactants capacity in Brazil and US
Dutch company AkzoNobel’s US business unit, AkzoNobel Surface Chemistry (Chicago, Illinois) is to raise its surfactants capacity in Brazil and the US. It is investing $20 million in its Morris, Illinois and Itupeva, Brazil plants. The funds will enable AkzoNobel to expand production capacity for fatty amine derivatives, which are used in agrochemicals among other products. AkzoNobel Surface Chemistry managing director Bob Margevich says the move is to support “strategic customers in the Americas”.
