US agencies face new ESA suit

The US environmentalist group, the Centre for Biological Diversity (CBD), has filed a lawsuit against the EPA and the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) for failing to complete consultations under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) over the effects of pesticides on red-legged frogs. The suit was filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of California this month. The CBD threatened the action in December 2010 ( Agrow No 607, p 16).
