US EPA drafts rodenticide order
The US EPA has issued a draft notice of intent to cancel the registrations of 20 household rodenticides because registrants have failed to adopt risk-reduction methods laid down in 2008. Registrants of rodenticides based on ten active ingredients were given until June 4th 2011 to meet the new standards. The EPA indicated in June that it would start cancellation proceedings against non-compliant products ( Agrow No 618, p 15). It has scheduled a meeting of its FIFRA Scientific Advisory Panel to review the proposed cancellations ( Agrow No 624, p 12).
