Brazil agchem sales still rising
Sales of pesticides in Brazil rose by 13% in September in national currency terms compared with the same month a year earlier, according to the national agrochemical industry trade association, the Sindag. Agrochemical revenues reached R$2,223 million ($1,291.2 million at the current rate) for the month, Sindag market data chief Ivan Amancio Sampaio says. Growth was led by acaricides and insecticides, which were up by a combined 19.4%. The former rose from R$20 million ($11.6 million) to R$29 million ($16.8 million).
