US firms settle agchem violations in Oregon

Three US companies have agreed to pay the EPA a total of $127,000 to settle pesticide registration violations in the state of Oregon. Nufarm Americas and Morrow County Grain Growers agreed to pay some $60,000 and $10,000, respectively, for selling and distributing the 2,4-D-based herbicides, Weedone LV6 EC and Weedar 64, with out-of-date first aid statements on labels. Grange Cooperative Supply Association agreed to pay over $57,000 in fines over the mislabelling of paraffin-based mineral oils.
