Paraguay agchem re-registration deadline looms
The Paraguayan plant health and seed quality service, the Senave, has called for comments from the public and pesticide registration applicants by the end of this year. The comments are for the evaluation of pesticide authorisation renewals under Resolution 132/09. The programme has run in two stages. The first involved the presentation of: dossiers for products containing confidential information; certificates of analysis of samples; and registration certificates of the country of origin of the active ingredient and/or formulation. The deadline for the first stage was June 30th. The registration re-evaluations fulfil the requirements of Resolution 446/06, covering crop-use pesticides. It seeks wider studies of chemical properties and toxicological, ecotoxicological and agronomic characteristics than previous rules “to guarantee efficacy and quality of products that are safe for human use and the environment”.
