US EPA clears return of Amvac fungicides

The US EPA has cleared the return of American Vanguard’s quintozene (PCNB)-based fungicides to the US market after more than a year-long ban. The Agency has permitted sales on cotton, brassicas, potatoes, turf and ornamentals, while labelling for other uses is still being addressed. The EPA ordered Amvac to stop selling its quintozene products in August 2010 because of unidentified impurities ( Agrow No 599, p 12). The order was overturned by a court ruling this August ( Agrow No 622, p 17). Since then, Amvac has been working with the EPA to amend its product registrations to ensure that they meet Agency requirements, the company points out.
