US EPA tackles aminopyralid damage
The US EPA has imposed additional restrictions on Dow AgroSciences’ aminopyralid-based herbicides to prevent plant damage from contaminated manure and compost. Despite label warnings and stewardship efforts by Dow, the EPA continues to receive reports of such damage, the Agency points out. The new restrictions will prohibit the distribution or sale of aminopyralid-treated hay from farms in states where plant damage is likely, the EPA says. Dow is introducing the revised labelling on some products this year and will extend it to all of its aminopyralid-based rangeland and pasture products for the 2012 season.
