Argentina enjoys $70 bn boost from GMOs

The adoption of genetically modified crops in Argentina had benefited the country by some $72,646 million, and created some 1.8 million jobs, after 15 years of using the technology, the Argentine biotechnology information council, the Argenbio, claims. The council has used an Argentine national agricultural technology institute (INTA)-developed simulation model, SIGMA, along with data from the Ministry of Agriculture to calculate “the gross benefit” from the adoption of GM crops.
