Brazil accepts minor-crop use extensions application
The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture has accepted a request from a group of researchers on extending pesticide registrations to the minor crops, strawberries and peppers. The group is from the vegetables division of the agricultural research corporation, the Embrapa. They made the request based on regulations introduced early last year that simplified the setting of use extensions ( Agrow No 587, p 20). It facilitated, for example, potential use extensions for pesticides approved for use on tomatoes to peppers as various minor crops could be pooled as similar on certain parameters.
