FMC adopts recycled agchem packaging in Brazil
FMC is the first agrochemical supplier in Brazil to adopt an approved packaging set that includes 85% of recycled material in the package and 30% in the cover, the national pesticide container disposal organisation, the inpEV, says. The set is Ecoplast Triex + Recicap and has been produced by the inpEV’s subsidiary, Campo Limpo Reciclagem & Transformação de Plásticos. Campo Limpo was set up three years ago to turn used pesticide containers into new ones. The plan was to create a “self-sustainable” industry ( Agrow No 570, p 16). The organisation has claimed the system to be the first post-consumption complete management of pesticide containers. Ecoplast Triex has the highest standards of quality, safety and performance on the market, the inpEV notes. The product is the first pack of recycled resin to obtain UN certification for the inland transport of agrochemicals, it adds.
