US approval for Syngenta's Zemax

Syngenta has received US approval for a new maize herbicide based on established active ingredients. Zemax (mesotrione + S-metolachlor + benoxacor safener) provides long-lasting residual control of grass and broadleaf weeds, the company points out. It is based on the same capsule suspension formulation technology used in its post-emergence maize herbicide, Halex GT (mesotrione + S-metolachlor + glyphosate). Zemax can be applied pre-emergence or tank-mixed with glyphosate as a post-emergence spray, Syngenta notes.
