India issues notices for pesticide irregularities
The Indian Central Insecticides Board’s Registration Committee (CIBRC) has issued “show cause” notices to two Indian companies for violations on safety and efficacy of pesticides. The companies include Crystal Phosphates and Insecticides India (both based in Delhi). They have been asked to clarify why their certificates of registration should not be cancelled for different violations of the provisions of the Insecticides Act, 1968. The CIBRC has also issued notices to two companies for illegally importing the insecticide, fipronil, “in the garb of an intermediate”. The companies are GSP Crop Science (Ahmedabad) and Jayvin Sales (Indore).
