China OKs more pesticide manufacturers
The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has published details of three newly approved companies that will engage in the manufacture of agrochemical active ingredients. This is the third batch of company approvals this year. The MIIT issued the last set of approvals in September ( Agrow No 624, p 17). The approvals were for: Shanghai Huayuan Chemical Industry, which received permission for a 5,000 tonnes/year facility for the plant growth regulator, ethephon; Lianyungang Nanlong Chemical, which was granted permission for a 300 tonnes facility for the insecticide, thiodicarb; and Lianshui Xianfeng Chemical, which was given the go ahead for a 2,700 tonnes facility for the fungicide, carbendazim.
