Brazil OKs T asperellum biofungicides
The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture has granted registrations for two versions of the biofungicide, Trichoderma asperellum. They are for Farropilha Biocontrole’s Quality and Turfal Industria’s Trichodermax EC. Quality includes T asperellum strain SF 04 (URM) 5911, and is for use on cotton, kidney beans and soybeans. Turfal is only for use on kidney beans and soybeans. They are the first T asperellum products for commercial use in Brazil, industry sources told Agrow. A temporary registration for T asperellum was granted in November to agrochemical joint venture Iharabras to evaluate its efficacy and for residue tests on 19 crops including kidney beans and soybeans.
