First US food-use OK for Syngenta PGR
The US EPA proposes the first food-use registrations of the established plant growth regulator, trinexapac-ethyl. Syngenta’s Palisade EC (trinexapac-ethyl 120 g/litre) and Palisade 2EC (trinexapac-ethyl 250 g/litre) are for use on cereals, sugar cane and grasses grown for seed. They are intended to prevent lodging of cereals and to improve seed piece production and maintain sugar content in sugar cane. Trinexapac-ethyl has been registered for use on turf since the 1960s. The food-use registration decision is open to public comment until February 9th.
