Ag Logic delays US aldicarb return

The US company, Ag Logic (Chapel Hill, North Carolina), is to delay the introduction of its insecticide/nematicide, Meymik 15G (aldicarb), until 2013. The December 2011 approval by the EPA did not allow time for introduction for the 2012 North American growing season, the company points out. The EPA proposed the approval of Meymik 15G on a range of crops in November ( Agrow No 629, p 26). Numerous farmers and grower groups had called on the EPA to approve the product, following Bayer CropScience’s withdrawal of its established aldicarb-based product, Temik ( Agrow No 615, p 23).
