Albaugh gains UK approval for Clomate
US agrochemical company Albaugh’s (Ankeny, Iowa) European business, Albaugh Europe, has received UK approval for the herbicide, Clomate (clomazone), for use on potatoes and oilseed rape. The micro-encapsulated formulation is the first independent generic brand of clomazone to be approved in Europe, the company points out. The authorisation marks the start of a programme of further country and crop approvals scheduled for 2012-13. Clomate is the latest addition to Albaugh Europe’s range, which is due to introduced in all key European markets over the next five years, says managing director Ad de Jong.
