Charity licenses gene technology to Syngenta

The US charitable group, the Two Blades Foundation (Evanston, Illinois), has granted a non-exclusive licence for its TAL (Transcription Activator Like) Code technology to Syngenta for commercial use in certain crops. The technology allows targeted gene activation or repression and genome modifications, the Foundation points out. The charity is committed to the development of crops with durable disease resistance for use in subsistence and less-developed agriculture.
