MEPs urge study on agchem supply/price link
The European Parliament has called for an evaluation of the impact on pesticide prices of the loss of products due to stricter registration requirements. It urges the European Commission to look at the suitability of products still available, and the effect on prices of fewer competing products on the market. Measures to ensure the future viability of minor-use products should also be considered. The resolution adopted by the Parliament was drawn up by its Agriculture Committee, and covers a wide range of actions to reduce inputs costs for EU farmers ( Agrow No 630, p 8).
