Paraguay to name late data submitters
The Paraguayan authorities will issue in early March a list of those companies that had failed to submit on time confidential information on five-batch analysis for formulated pesticide products and active ingredients for agricultural use. The plant health and seed quality service, the Senave, set a deadline of December 31st 2011 for companies to present the data amid fears of a lack of confidentiality ( Agrow No 630, p 18). The revalidation of the registration process complies with resolution 446/06, the Senave says. It demands wider studies on impurity profiles, synthesis processes, physicochemical properties, as well as toxicological, ecotoxicological and agronomic characteristics. The service also notes that it has corrected a computer malfunction that seemed to have lost pesticide import requests including confidential information. The data has been retrieved, the records enabled and system is working well, it says.
