EFSA seeks views on tests for agchem dietary risks
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has opened a second consultation on draft guidance on methods to assess dietary exposure to pesticide residues. The document considers probabilistic techniques that allow estimates to be made for multiple consumers. The currently used deterministic methods are simpler, but only estimate exposure for one consumer. The EFSA has been working to improve the draft over the last year, after respondents to the first consultation in 2010 called for more practical and prescriptive guidance ( Agrow No 605, p 9). Comments are requested by March 7th. The document is on the EFSA’s website at: http://www.efsa.europa.eu/en/consultations/call/120125.htm.
