EU updates ais on dangerous chemicals list

The European Commission has updated the list of agrochemical active ingredients covered by rules governing the import and export of dangerous chemicals. The move reflects recent EU re-registration decisions. The insecticide, triflumuron, and the fungicide, triazoxide, have been removed from the list, following successful re-applications to gain EU approval in 2011 ( Agrow No 612, p 12 and No 623, p 10). Seven ais that did not gain re-registration have been added to the list: the herbicides, dichlobenil, cyanamide and propisochlor; the fungicides, dicloran and ethoxyquin; the fumigant, methyl bromide; and the plant growth regulator, flurprimidol. The changes will apply from April 1st.
