Syngenta drops Innovotech's Agress
Syngenta has decided not to commercialise Canadian company Innovotech’s (Edmonton, Alberta) bactericidal seed treatment, Agress (oxysilver nitrate). Syngenta agreed to conduct North American trials with the seed treatment last year ( Agrow No 588, p 3). Innovotech is disappointed that Syngenta has decided not pursue its “right of first refusal”, but looks forward to working with other companies that have expressed interest in the product. “Agress continues to show excellent results in recently completed field trials that expand its potential uses to high value-added crops such as fruits, vegetables and pulses,” says Innovotech president and CEO Ken Boutilier.
