EU clears Apollo/Taminco deal
The European Commission has approved the proposed acquisition of Belgian chemical company Taminco (Ghent) by US investment company Apollo Global Management. The Commission concluded that the deal would not raise competition concerns, following an examination of the case ( Agrow No 632, p 5). The Belgian company is the world’s largest producer of alkylamines and derivatives, which are used as intermediates in the manufacture of agrochemicals. UK-based global private equity firm CVC is selling its 75% stake in Taminco.
