Valent debuts solo Metlock treatment in US

Sumitomo Chemical’s US subsidiary, Valent USA Corporation (Walnut Creek, California), has introduced the fungicidal seed treatment, Metlock (Kureha’s metconazole), as a stand-alone product for use on maize, cotton and small-grain cereals. It has already been introduced in fungicide/insecticide combinations for canola and cereals ( Agrow No 634, p 20). Metlock is for the control of seedling diseases such as Rhizoctonia spp and Pythium spp. Sumitomo and Kureha agreed to develop metconazole for North American use in 2005 ( Agrow No 468, p 1).
