More EU biocide decisions progress
EU Ministers have cleared European Commission proposals not to grant biocide approval to dichlorvos and naled for non-crop insecticide/acaricide use. Proposals to approve margosa extract as an insecticide/acaricide and methyl nonyl ketone as a repellent have been accepted. The Commission will now issue formal decisions, which will include a phase-out schedule for naled and dichlorvos. The four active ingredients were being reviewed under the EU biocidal products Directive (98/8).
