Australia to approve BASF's Sharpen
The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) has proposed the approval of BASF’s post-emergence herbicide, Sharpen WG (saflufenacil – trademarked as Kixor). It is intended for use with glyphosate to improve the control of certain broadleaf weeds prior to planting arable crops and for non-crop use. The APVMA proposed the approval of saflufenacil as a new active ingredient in December 2011 ( Agrow No 630, p 22). The proposed product approval is open to public comment until March 27th.
