Certis to debut Piramax in Italy

Mitsui & Co's agrochemical distribution company, Certis Europe, is to launch Nihon Nohyaku’s herbicide/desiccant, Piramax (pyraflufen-ethyl), in a 2.5% emulsion concentrate formulation, in Italy this spring. The product is the fruit of a co-development with Nihon subsidiary Nichino Europe, and is for the control of grapevine shoots and fruit tree suckers and as a non-selective herbicide on grapevines and fruit trees, and for use as a potato desiccant. In 2010, Nihon Nohyaku appointed Certis Europe as distributor for pyraflufen-ethyl in the Netherlands, where it was to be sold as Quickdown ( Agrow No 583, p 3).
