China drafts more agchem production OKs
China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has issued its latest draft list of pesticide production approval certificates for 2012. The majority of the 213 authorisations are for pesticide processing or mixing of agrochemical compounds. The approvals are valid for two years. The Chinese industry is given a notice period of one week to raise objections to the draft list. Only two Chinese companies were granted new production approvals for the manufacture of active ingredients. They were: Shanghai High Victory Fine Chemical, for the insecticide, ethiprole (95% purity); and Jiangsu Heben Bio-chemical for the insecticide, hexythiazox (97%). Some 36 of the approvals were granted to companies based in the province of Shaanxi, which was more than for any other region.
