Monsanto presents Intacta soybeans in Brazil
Monsanto is presenting its genetically modified insect-resistant and glyphosate-tolerant Intacta RR 2 Pro (MON87701xMON89788) to Brazilian farmers. The soybeans were approved in Brazil in 2010 ( Agrow No 602, p 24). The company is delaying the launch until major importers approve the import of the technology. Intacta would become the first insect-resistant soybean line available in Brazil. Roundup Ready 2 Yield soybeans (MON89788) are sold in the US, but the insect-resistant version was developed for the Brazilian market; the first to be developed for a non-US market, the company notes.
