US EPA repeats call for fenamiphos data
The US EPA has repeated its call for data to support the continuation of import tolerances for the organophosphate insecticide/nematicide, fenamiphos. The Agency received no responses from its initial request last year ( Agrow No 623, p 16). The data would be necessary to support import tolerances for pineapples, grapes, raisins and bananas. US registrations for fenamiphos were cancelled in 2007 at the request of Bayer CropScience. Last year, the Agency extended the phase-out to allow the distribution of existing stocks ( Agrow No 626, p 17).
