Australia renews quintozene suspension
The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) has renewed its suspension of all registrations of the fungicide, quintozene, for another year. The APVMA first suspended the registrations in April 2010 for a year due to the presence of undeclared dioxin impurities at levels that might pose risks to applicators ( Agrow No 589, p 23). It was extended last year to allow the submission of new data ( Agrow No 614, p 21). The latest suspension will remain in effect until April 14th 2013 while the APVMA reviews the newly supplied data.
