EFSA guidance on agchem dermal absorption
Revised guidance on the EU assessment of dermal absorption of agrochemicals has been issued by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). It aims to assist companies submitting approval applications, users of test facilities, and national regulatory authorities. The document provides recommendations for performing and interpreting dermal absorption studies, together with guidance for when no dermal absorption data are available. It also includes a proposal on ways to report data in the Draft Assessment Reports and Registration Reports produced by the regulatory authorities. The revision started in 2008, as the interpretation of dermal absorption data was considered one of the least harmonised aspects of the EU risk assessment process ( Agrow No 592, p 15. The guidance is available on the EFSA website at: www.efsa.europa.eu/en/efsajournal/pub/2665.htm.
