Gowan/Otsuka in Canadian acaricide deal
The US agrochemical company, Gowan (Yuma, Arizona), has reached an exclusive distribution arrangement with Japanese firm Otsuka AgriTechno (Tokyo) for Otsuka’s acaricide, Acaritouch (propylene glycol monolaurate), in Canada. The distribution deal will be preceded by a period of evaluation and registration in Canada to position the product according to market needs, Gowan points out. Acaritouch can be used for mite control on a range of crops, including fruit, vegetables and ornamentals. It also has activity against mildew, Gowan notes. Acaritouch has been registered for use in the US since 2004.
