Little desire for GMO labels in US
Most US consumers support existing food labelling rules and few cite biotechnology as an information need on food labels. They are some of the findings of the latest survey by the International Food Information Council (IFIC) on consumer perceptions of food technology. The IFIC has been conducting the survey since 1997. It represents “the most objective and long-term publicly available data set on US consumer attitudes towards food safety and agricultural biotechnology”, says IFIC president and CEO David Schmidt.
