Isagro USA/AgraQuest biofungicide deal

Italian agrochemical company Isagro’s US subsidiary, Isagro USA (Morrisville, North Carolina), has appointed US biopesticide firm AgraQuest (Davis, California), as distributor for the biofungicide, Bio-Tam ( Trichoderma asperellum strain ICC 012 + T gamsii strain ICC 080), for agricultural crops in the US. AgraQuest has also been granted development rights in Mexico and certain development options in Canada as part of the deal. Sipcam-Oxon’s US agrochemical business, SipcamAdvan (Durham, North Carolina), will continue to market the biofungicide as Tenet for turf and ornamentals. Isagro USA appointed SipcamAdvan as its US distributor in 2010 ( Agrow No 586, p 2). The arrangement will allow “each company to focus on its respective markets, which will help Isagro gain maximum value for the Trichoderma product in both segments”, says Isagro USA chairman Denny Krass.
