Dow licenses diagnostics tool to Agdia
Dow AgroSciences has granted the US diagnostics company, Agdia (Elkhart, Indiana), an exclusive licence to develop a commercial version of a Dow prototype for automating the analysis of multiple immunoassay strips for disease and genetically modified crop trait detection. Agdia was the first company to assemble individual immunoassay strips into a multi-strip comb, but analysis is conducted manually. Dow developed an automated strip reader, which saves time and helps eliminate human error, the company points out. Agdia will develop a commercial version of the reader and introduce customised combs for use with it.
