DPA fails to gain EU approval for second time

European Commission proposals against the re-registration of the fungicide, diphenylamine (DPA), have been supported by a majority vote in the EU Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health. This is the second time the ai has failed to gain re-registration, following a similar Commission decision in 2009. The re-application was submitted in 2010 by the Diphenylamine Data Development Consortium ( Agrow No 603, p 10), which was supported by French company Xeda International, US company Pace International and the United Phosphorus subsidiaries, Cerexagri (France) and Decco (Spain).
