Spain grants 120-day Rynaxypyr approval
Spain has granted emergency use 120-day approval for certain formulations of DuPont’s insecticide, chlorantraniliprole (trade-marked as Rynaxypyr), national newswire agrodigital reports. The authorisation is for 20% suspension concentrate formulations to control cotton bollworms ( Heliothis armigera). Only single spray applications at a rate of 200 ml/ha with a 21-day “safety” interval are allowed. The approval runs until October 4th and follows an official request from the regional government of Andalusia. The European Commission has permitted EU member states to extend provisional approvals for chlorantraniliprole ( Agrow No 638, p 9).
