Argentina modifies agchem toxicology criteria
Argentina has “updated” the toxicology classification of pesticide products by incorporating the UN WHO’s 2009 categorisation. Animal and plant health inspection service Senasa Resolution 302/2012 modifies the manual of procedures, criteria and reach for the country’s pesticide product register, altering chapter 20 of Resolution 350/1999. It sets common criteria to be considered when submitting laboratory studies for pesticide registration applications, referring to skin and eye irritation, and skin sensitivity charts as those set by the US EPA. Further criteria on laboratory studies for pesticide registrations will take into account OECD guidelines on acute oral and dermal toxicity, inhalation classification, dermal and eye irritation, and skin sensitivity.
