Canada finally issues pesticide sales data
The Canadian Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has finally issued data on registrants’ annual pesticide sales nearly a decade after the passage of legislation that mandated the move. The revised Pest Control Products Act (PCPA) received Royal Assent in December 2002 but it did not come into force until June 2006 ( Agrow No 499, p 13). Regulations on the annual reporting of sales data took effect in November that year. They require registrants to report volume sales of all registered products. The PCPA called for the PMRA to produce an annual summary of pesticide sales data.
