Bayer/Pioneer penflufen seed treatment deal

Bayer CropScience and DuPont’s seed subsidiary, Pioneer Hi-Bred International, have entered into an exclusive agreement to supply US soybean growers with seed treated with Bayer’s new fungicidal seed treatment, EverGol Energy (penflufen 38.4 g/litre + prothioconazole 76.8 g/litre + metalaxyl 61.4 g/litre). Pioneer brand seed treated with the product will be available for the 2013 season. EverGol Energy provides protection against Rhizoctonia spp and other early-season diseases, the companies point out. Bayer has received US approval for four penflufen-based products ( Agrow No 641, p 20). EverGol Energy is approved for use on peas and beans, small-grain cereals and alfalfa.
