SGS acquires Gravena
The Swiss contract research and agricultural management consultancy, SGS (Geneva), has acquired the Brazilian research and training consultancy, Gravena (Jaboticabal). The Brazilian firm is the leading contract research provider in the country, SGS says. Gravena has four field trial facilities in different states across the major climatic areas of Brazil. It employs more than 120 staff and had revenues of over R$8 million (US$4 million) last year. The acquisition offers SGS the basis for further expansion in South America, it adds.
